Wow Ignored

If you've ever not been acknowledged in guild chat or are just generally feeling ignored, I offer some suggestions.
1. If you ask something in guild chat, follow up once again a min or so later on gc. Just in case the guildies didn't see it the first time. (just don't spam it, that gets annoying)
2. Send a tell to someone specifically. If you are looking for a tank for VH, than look to see what people online have tanks and ask them about their interest. If it is more of a game issue, chat up someone you know to be knowledgeable on the subject.
3. If you want to do an instance and it seems no one wants to do it, but you have your heart set on it, make a post on the forums. Sometimes it is easier to engage someone at a later time, when they can set aside time for you.
4. If you are looking for information, like where a specific quest thing is etc, and no one responds at all, it might just be easier to go on wowhead or thottbot.
5. Make connections in the guild. The guild like all community is really a matrix of social ties. People get to know people, people get to be friendly with some and not so friendly with others. Make an effort to get to know people, who you think will mesh well with you. Send them a tell saying hi. Ask them a question. Its just like real life, people are more invested in you, if they know you.
6. Make an effort to talk on guild chat. The more people see your name, the more people get familiar with you. Greet people when they come on, say good bye when they leave. Don't just talk when you need something. This doesn't mean that people wont ignore you, but it definitely increases your odds that people wont.
7. Take people up on offers. So many times on gc people are spamming for heroic this, or what-the-ever-that-is instance and get no response. Guildies and officers alike deal with the rejection of not enough people wanting to do their instance (unfortunately), so take a step and join them. That way, when you want to do an instance, they may be more inclined to help you out as well. Generalized reciprocity, its how the world works.
